Why choose
ProPERLA
ProPERLA has a wide range of exterior super hydrophobic paints & coatings designed to reduce energy costs and protect homes.
Moisture in building materials is a key driver to energy loss. Wet materials transfer heat much quicker than dry materials. Tests have shown that a damp content of 5% in a plain brick wall can lower the insulation performance by up to 50%. By keeping walls and roofs dry, ProPERLA coatings help to improve thermal efficiency.
Key Benefits
Super Hydrophobic
Water cannot stick to the coated surface but forms droplets that run off the surface.
Breathable
Water and moisture are able to escape the masonry due to the high breathability rating of the products.
Self-Cleaning
Masonry remains clean and attractive as dirt is unable to take hold.
Insulation Barrier
Reduces water absorption by more than 93%. Dry walls mean less heat loss.

Our Process
Stage
Preparation
All dirt, mould, algae and loose paint is removed by power-washing, wire brushing, scraping or other mechanical methods. Where appropriate, surfaces are treated with ProPERLA Biocide to kill and prevent organic growth. This is strongly recommended in areas where moss, algae or mould has been removed.
Stage
Repair
The next stage is to repair all damaged and worn surfaces, reinstating missing masonry, brick or mortar with the appropriate materials. Damaged render is removed and all cracks are repaired. Great care is taken to minimise the visibility of repairs. Previously unpainted brickwork can be re-bagged with SBR/mortar mix to disguise imperfections whilst retaining the natural brick line appearance.
Stage
Masking
Great care is taken to protect doors, windows, paths and surrounding areas, including plants, bushes and lawns. Doors and windows are masked with tape and heavy-duty paper, while surrounding areas are protected with polythene and dust sheets.
Stage
Priming
Where required, ProPERLA Masonry Primer is applied as a high-performance base coat for masonry surfaces. This provides excellent adhesion for the topcoat, prevents de-lamination, and ensures the best waterproofing results. Some ProPERLA products are self-priming, so a primer may not be necessary unless surfaces are dusty, chalky, or in poor condition.
Stage
Application
The selected ProPERLA wall coating is applied via brush, roller, or airless spray equipment at the specified coverage rate for that product. This is typically achieved in two coats. The result is a long-lasting, breathable, water-repellent finish that helps protect the property, enhances appearance, and reduces maintenance.
